This is a classic US trilobite. It is a juvenile Isotelus maximus from Ohio. This type of trilobite is one of the most recognizable trilobites in the world, especially because of its large maximum size. This type of trilobite has also been officially named the ''State Fossil of Ohio''. This specimen is enrolled and easily seen. The bug has very good detail preserved. The chocolate-brown coloration of the fossil is naturally striking and contrasts beautifully with the grey matrix. This is a nice ''mini'' version of the classic Isotelus maximus trilobite. (You can see the other side of the trilobite through the back side of the rock.)
