Here is an excellent example of an unusual trilobite. This is Ormathops atavus from the Ordovician of Morocco. This prone specimen is nicely inflated and wonderfully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, and the fine detail of the specimen is easily seen. The limonitic orange coloration is quite striking and contrasts nicely with the greenish-brown matrix. The trilobite is well centered on the squared block of rock, and the counterpart is present and offered here for free. This is a top quality specimen of a highly uncommon Ormathops atavus from the Ordovician of Morocco.
