Here is a very rare fossil association. It is a Calymene breviceps and a Crinoid Holdfast from the Waldron Shale of Indiana. This specimen was just recently prepared. The inflated trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits great detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, which is very unusual for this type. The triangular pygidium is even intact. The small eyes are quite evident, and the granules on the glabella can be easily seen. There is also a textbook Crinoid Holdfast on the plate. And there is even a fossil gastropod (Platyostoma) on the top of the plate! And these fossils are fully natural to the plate and have not been added on or composited. This is a very unique example of a Calymene breviceps and Crinoid Holdfast from Waldron.
