Here is a wonderful plate of trilobites from the Middle Cambrian Wheeler Formation of Utah. There are three specimens of Elrathia kingi on this plate. All of these trilobites are natural to the plate - no compositing or addition of trilobites has been done to this specimen. The largest of the Elrathia is complete with both free cheeks intact and tightly attached. The black color of the trilobites contrasts beautifully with the grey matrix. The natural plate of shale is covered with small algae masses and also contains a very nice enrolled Elrathia (rare). This is a very unusual multiple specimen of three Elrathia trilobites from the Wheeler Shale.
