This is an excellent example of a rare trilobite. It is an enrolled Phacops rana norwoodensis from Iowa. This specimen came directly from a major trilobite collector. The trilobite is very inflated and 3-D. The distinct bug is extremely well articulated and tightly enrolled for this type. The bug has a beautiful brown-colored exoskeleton and great detail preserved. The trilobite is fully free of matrix and displays well from either side, although the back side is sort of flat, which is perfect for displaying the the front ''top'' side. This is a very rare loose, enrolled example of this very hard-to-find US trilobite.
