This is a great example of Odontochile spinifera from the Devonian of Morocco. The dark brown specimen is slightly arched on the light brown piece of rock. The trilobite is well centered and shows good contrast with the matrix. It has been prepared with free-standing genal spines. The trilobite is nicely articulated and has excellent detail. The lenses of the eyes are quite evident as are the bumps or small nodes on the exoskeleton. This trilobite should not be confused with Odontochile hausmani which does not have the bumps on the exoskeleton. This is a very nice specimen of this hard-to-obtain species.
