This is a nice example of the stalk-eyed Asaphus (Neoasaphus) kowalewskii from the Ordovician of Russia. The dark caramel-brown trilobite has great contrast against the light-colored matrix. The fossil is well centered on the natural shaped piece of rock. The trilobite has good detail and is tightly articulated. This is a very fine example of this stalk-eyed species of Asaphus.
