Here is a classic trilobite fossil. This is a wonderful Elrathia kingi from the Cambrian of Utah. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 2005. Although this species is one of the most prolific trilobites, this specimen is a very fine example. The trilobite is complete and almost perfectly articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The trilobite has been well prepared with an air abrasive machine to preserve the fine detail. The black bug contrasts beautifully with the grey matrix plate that also contains other Elrathia and an Agnostid. This is a very distinct example of Elrathia kingi.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
