This is a very unusual Lower Cambrian trilobite. It is a fine Daguinaspis sp. from South Morocco. This type is very rare and extremely primitive. This specimen has both free cheeks present, which is extremely unusual. The trilobite also has huge eyes, giving the bug its unusual look. The natural coloration contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. And this is a split pair fossil - the part and counterpart are both present. This is one trilobite you do not see everyday, especially in this high quality and completeness.
