This is a rare pair of spiny trilobites from the Devonian of Morocco. This unique specimen was meticulously prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. An extremely distinct Leonaspis is displayed on one end of the block of limestone. This trilobite is well articulated and exhibits extraordinary detail - all of the individual spines are clearly defined. A complete Cyphaspis boutscharafinense is also on the plate. This spiny trilobite is nicely showcased, and the fine detail of the trilobite is clearly defined. A genal spine and the long thoracic spine have been meticulously prepared in a free-standing position for optimal display. The bugs have great color and contrast beautifully with the sculpted grey matrix. And best of all, they are completely natural to the plate - they have not been composited or altered! This is a stunning example of two different spiny trilobites from the Devonian of Morocco.
