This is a very nice Mississippian trilobite. It is a fine Ameropiltonia lauradanae from the Choteau Formation of Missouri. As everyone knows, complete Carboniferous trilobites are quite rare. This bug is extremely inflated and very well preserved - it was found in the limestone layers, which is very unusual. The fossil is extremely prone, has great color and contrast, and is well displayed on the plate of limestone that also contains a partial bug. This is a fabulous example of an Ameropiltonia lauradanae trilobite found in the limestone.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
