Here is a very rare Cambrian trilobite. This is Utaspis marjumensis from the Marjum Formation of Utah. This type is one of the most sought-after, and most elusive, of all the classic Utah trilobites. This wonderfully articulated specimen is complete, with both free cheeks intact and tight, which is extremely rare. The distinct genal and pleural spines are very easily seen. The dark brownish-red trilobite contrasts nicely with the pinkish matrix. The bug is beautifully prepared and well presented on the large, rectangular block of limestone. This is a very collectible example of this rarely-seen trilobite from Utah.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
