Here is a very pretty trilobite. This is Bolaspidella sp. from the Marjum Formation of Utah. This species of Bolaspidella has a semicircular cephalon with a very prominent upturned convex border and no spine on the occipital ring. This trilobite is tightly articulated and exhibits wonderful detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The short, flaring genal spines are easily seen and even the minute pygidium is intact. The black-brown coloration of the bug is totally natural and contrasts beautifully with the grey matrix. The trilobite is well centered on the squared plate of shale. This is an excellent example of Bolaspidella sp. from the Cambrian of Utah.
