This is a beautifull pair of Ordovician fossils. There are two true Ceraurus pleurexanthemus on the plate. This nice association fossil is from the famous Walcott-Rust Quarry (WRQ) near Trenton Falls, New York. Ceraurus pleurexanthemus is one of the original trilobites that Charles Walcott and James Hall made famous a century ago! The trilobites are complete, with both free cheeks and eyes intact. The trilobites have great detail preserved, showcasing the pustulated, thick shell exoskeleton beautifully. The bugs are very well articulated and are very well displayed on the large limestone plate. Anyone who knows anything about the history of US trilobites knows how important a trilobite from this locality is - it is a piece of history. This is a very displayable double example of classic Ceraurus pleurexanthemus trilobites from New York State.
