This is an excellent spiny trilobite. It is a large Ampyx priscus from the Ordovician of Morocco. This amazing trilobite was meticulously prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab. This trilobite is REAL, unlike most of the Moroccan Ampyx specimens on the market that have carved-in and painted spines. The trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits excellent detail. The fossil is also extremely inflated and 3-D for this type. The dark orange color of the trilobite contrasts superbly with the light-colored matrix. The bug is beautifully showcased on the large, sculpted plate of limestone that also contains a complete Asaphid trilobite! And, again, these trilobites are REAL! This is an extremely nice Ampyx priscus from Morocco - only one of a handful that has not been faked.
