This is a very fine example of an unusual Ordovician trilobite from Morocco. This is a Mucronaspis zagoraensis, a dalmanitid trilobite. The trilobite displays long genal spines and an extremely long caudal spine. This specimen is very prone and wonderfully articulated. The long spines and large eyes (facets are intact) of the trilobite are wonderfully exhibited. The natural, dark brown color of the trilobite contrasts beautifully with the lighter colored matrix. The large trilobite is well showcased on the squared, sculpted block of dense sandstone. This is a very large and collectible specimen of this unusual Ordovician trilobite.
