This is simply a beautiful Phacops trilobite. It is a sculpted Phacops speculator from Morocco. This specimen has been expertly prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab here in Colorado. The rock has been professionally extracted from around the entire trilobite, making it fully free-standing! The trilobite has then been securely mounted on a beautiful piece of Miocene coral. The trilobite is super clean, and the compound eye facets are excellent. The detail is fabulous - the pustules on the exoskeleton and the mouthplate (hypostoma) are very easily seen. And displaying on the fossil coral colony makes for a unique display. This is a top quality, expertly prepared trilobite that displays beautifully on a bed of fossil coral.

This fossil was collected legally, and is also being sold legally.
