Here is a beautifully outstretched Chotecops sp. from the slate quarries of Bundenbach, Germany. The site where these bugs have been found for decades is now closed, and the only way to obtain these classic specimens is through the dispersal of old collections. This is one of those specimens. This trilobite is much more 3-dimensional than most bugs from this site. It is wonderfully articulated and exhibits very fine detail. The large cephalon, individual thoracic segments, and rounded pygidium are all clearly defined. The trilobite is well showcased on the large plate of roofing slate. This is a very collectible example of Chotecops from this world-famous site.
