This is an extremely nice trilobite. It is a super specimen of Cheirurus (Crotalocephalina) gibbus from the Devonian of Morocco. This beautiful specimen was meticulously prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. This large, inflated trilobite is EXTREMELY 3-dimensional and wonderfully articulated. The detail of the trilobite is very nice. The very small eyes are easily seen, and the short genal spines are fully intact. The triangular pleurons terminate in sharp points, and the upswept pygidial spines are quite impressive. The bug has outstanding color and contrast and is beautifully showcased on the sculpted limestone block. This is a very displayable specimen of Cheirurus (Crotalocephalina) gibbus.
This fossil was collected legally, and is also being sold legally.
