This is a beautiful pair of Ceraurus pleurexanthemus from the famous Walcott-Rust Quarry (WRQ) near Trenton Falls, New York. This type is one of the original trilobites that Charles Walcott and James Hall made famous a century ago! Both specimens on the plate have their free cheeks and eyes intact, which is quite unusual. The trilobites have great detail preserved, showcasing the pustulated, thick shell exoskeletons beautifully. The bugs are very large and very well displayed on the rectangular limestone plate - fully natural, no compositing! Anyone who knows anything about the history of US trilobites knows how important a piece like this is. This is a top quality double example of classic Ceraurus pleurexanthemus trilobites from New York State.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
