Here is a very attractive specimen of Kainops raymondi from the Lower Devonian of Oklahoma. This trilobite is differentiated from Paciphacops by the larger number of lenses in the eyes. This specimen is extremely prone and very 3-dimensional. The trilobite exhibits fine detail - the granulose glabella is nicely displayed, and the compound eyes of the trilobite are quite evident. Even the individual lenses of the eyes are very distinct. The thick-shelled, caramel-colored trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The bug is well presented on the large, sculpted block of limestone. This is a very well preserved example of this large-eyed Phacopid trilobite from the Haragan Formation.
