This is an interesting plate from the Ordovician of Russia. The trilobite is an Asaphus (Neoasaphus) cornutus. It is nicely inflated and the dark brown color contrasts extremely well with the matrix. Another feature of this fossil is the presence of an Echinosphaerites sp. cystoid on the same natural piece of matrix. This is an unusual association specimen from Russia.
