Here is a fabulous trilobite from the DeRosear Collection. This is an excellent example of Olenellus clarki from the Latham Formation of California. Trilobites from this Lower Cambrian location are some of the most sought-after in the US, and complete trilobites from this site are quite rare. This classic trilobite exhibits very fine detail. The semi-circular cephalon is easily seen, and the individual thoracic segments are unusually intact. Even a portion of the telson (tail spine) is quite evident. The trilobite is well presented on the somewhat triangular plate of colorful shale. This is a very collectible example of Olenellus clarki from the DeRosear Collection.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
