This is a very nice plate of fossils. It is a true Ceraurus pleurexanthemus and other fossils from the famous Walcott-Rust Quarry near Trenton Falls, New York. This type is one of the original trilobites that Charles Walcott and James Hall made famous over a century ago! This specimen is complete, with both free cheeks and eyes intact. The trilobite has very good detail preserved, showcasing the thick shell exoskeleton beautifully.(hard to see in photo) Anyone who knows anything about the history of US trilobites knows how important a trilobite from this locality is - it is a piece of history. This is a very fine example of a classic Ceraurus pleurexanthemus trilobite with bryozoan from New York State.
