This is a fabulous Lower Cambrian trilobite. It is a striking Olenellus chiefensis from the Pioche Formation of Nevada. This specimen was recently acquired from a major fossil collection, and you can easily see why. The trilobite is complete including the LONG telson (tailspine). The detail of this trilobite is wonderful - even the long genal and pleural spines are wonderfully showcased. The bug is nicely inflated and well displayed on the large, natural plate. And the fabulous contrast makes this bug stand out beautifully against the surrounding matrix. This is the most displayable Olenellus chiefensis trilobite we have ever had.
