This is a strange fossil association. This is a nice specimen of Onnia superba from the Devonian of Morocco. The detailed trilobite is nicely inflated and wonderfully articulated. The fine texture of the pitted fringe is quite evident. There is also a large gastropod (extremely 3-dimensional) sitting under the trilobite - this is a very unusual association. The fossils have great color and contrast and are well showcased on the top of the block of limestone. This is a unique specimen of an excellent Onnia superba and a fossil gastropod from the Ordovician.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
