Here is a very nice specimen of an uncommon trilobite. This is Dechenella burmeisteri from the Devonian of Morocco. This type of trilobite has a semicircular cephalon with short genal spines and a prominent pygidial border. The bug has a very smooth carapace - almost entirely void of any ornamentation. This detailed specimen is very inflated and almost perfectly prone. The dark color of the fossil contrasts well with the light-colored matrix. The bug is beautifully showcased on the sculpted block of limestone. This is an excellent example of this scarce trilobite from Morocco.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
