Here is a rare specimen of two different trilobites from a classic European location. This specimen is from the Ordovician Llandeilo Strata of Valongo, Portugal. The trilobite on the left is Eodalmanitina destombesi. This trilobite displays facets on its eyes - this feature is usually missing from this species. The trilobite on the right is Placoparia tournemini. This uncommon trilobite is very 3-D and displays beautifully. Both trilobites have great natural color and are wonderfully showcased on the natural matrix block. Usually, the trilobites from this locality are on very small pieces of matrix - this pair is on an unusually large rock. This is a great double specimen of two very different trilobites from Portugal.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
