This is a classic US trilobite. It is a true Ceraurus pleurexanthemus from the famous Walcott-Rust Quarry near Trenton Falls, New York. This type is one of the original trilobites that Charles Walcott and James Hall made famous a century ago! This specimen is complete, with both free cheeks and both eyes intact. The trilobite has fine detail preserved. And there is NO RESTORATION to this trilobite whatsoever. There is also a partial Ceraurus and a few unique bryozoans preserved on the plate. Anyone who knows anything about the history of US trilobites knows how important a trilobite from this locality is - it is a piece of history. This is a very collectible example of a classic Ceraurus pleurexanthemus trilobite with bryozoans from New York State.
