This is a fabulous example of a rare US trilobite. It is a large Glossapleura bion from the Wellsville Mountains, Utah. This large specimen was recently acquired from a major trilobite collector. The trilobite is complete with both free cheeks intact and tightly articulated. The colorful shell exoskeleton of the trilobite contrasts beautifully with the light grey-green matrix. The large bug (3+ inches long) displays extremely well, centered on the large block of dense shale that also has a Spencia(?) preserved near the left genal spine of the Glossapleura. This is one of the best and most displayable examples of Glossapleura bion we have ever seen.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
