Here is a classic trilobite from the midwestern US. It is a fine Sthenarocalymene celebra from the Silurian of Illinois. We recently obtained this specimen from a well-known trilobite collector. The dolomitic preservation of this trilobite is quite unusual. The large trilobite is extremely inflated and wonderfully articulated. The unusual, light color of the fossil is quite striking. This is a very nice example of this collectible trilobite from Illinois.
