Here is an unusual Griffithides bufo trilobite associated with a sponge. This specimen is from Crawfordsville, Indiana, a site more well known for beautiful crinoids. The trilobite is complete and outstretched. It has good color and contrast. Only a few of these trilobites are found each year. The sponge is also an unusual occurrence in the fossil record. This specimen gives a glimpse into the Mississippian paleo-environment.
