Here is an extremely rare US trilobite. It is a complete Bellacartwrightia iowensis from the Devonian of Iowa. Trilobites from the Cedar Valley Formation are quite uncommon - complete Phacops are very unusual, Crassiproetus are very rare, and complete Bellacartwrightia are almost never found. This specimen is very inflated and wonderfully prone, which is extremely unusual. The nicely articulated trilobite exhibits superb detail. The light butterscotch-colored, thick-shelled exoskeleton of the bug contrasts wonderfully with the light buff matrix. The ancient arthropod is beautifully displayed on the small block of limestone. This is a rare complete specimen of a highly uncommon trilobite from Iowa.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
