Here is a nice specimen of an uncommon trilobite. This is Dechenella sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. This type of trilobite has a semicircular cephalon with genal spines and a prominent pygidial border. It has a very smooth carapace - almost entirely void of any ornamentation. This detailed specimen is very inflated and almost perfectly prone. The dark color of the fossil contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The bug is well centered on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a very attractive example of this scarce trilobite from Morocco.
