This is a beautiful trilobite. It is a textbook Ceraurus new species from Ontario, Canada. This fabulous specimen was recently acquired from the famous DeRosear Collection. This type is one of the hardest Canadian Ceraurus-types to find well-articulated. This one is not only nice, it is spectacular. The trilobite is extremely inflated and has beautifully preserved thick shell exoskeleton. The long genal and tail spines are wonderfully displayed. The bug is amazingly well-articulated and almost perfectly centered on the large, squared matrix block...wow! This is simply one of the best Ceraurus new species ever found, period - and it was locked up in the DeRosear Collection for many years, until now.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
