This is a CLASSIC Lower Cambrian trilobite. It is a nearly-perfect Mesonacis fremonti from the Latham Shale of California. This specimen was found in the 1960's and recently acquired from an OLD collection. The bug is fully complete including the long telson (tailspine), which is easily seen. The detail of this trilobite is simply awesome - even the tiny pleural spines are intact. The bug is nicely inflated and 3-D, and has the beautiful, natural color that the Marble Mountans Olenellids are known for. This is simply a Top Quality Lower Cambrian Mesonacis fremonti trilobite that has been in a collection for FORTY YEARS!
