This is an excellent specimen of Flexicalymene retrorsa from the Ordovician of Ohio. This complete trilobite is outstretched and 3-dimensionally preserved. The bug is wonderfully articulated and exhibits great detail. Both free cheeks are present and nicely displayed. The bug has thick, chocolate brown exoskeleton that contrasts well with the blue-grey matrix. The trilobite is nicely showcased on the large, natural block of shale. This is a top quality example of a large, prone Flexicalymene retrorsa.
