Here is a very nice trilobite that we just recently prepared. It is a Calymene breviceps from the Waldron Shale of Indiana. This specimen was probably found twenty years ago and stayed unprepared until now. The inflated trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits great detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, which is somewhat unusual for this type. The triangular pygidium is even intact. The small eyes are quite evident, and the granules on the glabella can be easily seen. There are also four brachiopods on the plate of there different types. And the Calymene is still encased in the rock - the bug is not composited, and it has never been ''popped out''. This is a very fine, complete example of Calymene breviceps from the Silurian.
