This is a rare Australian trilobite. It is a beautiful Xystridura templetoni from Queensland, Australia. This specimen was recently acquired from the famous DeRosear Collection. The trilobite is complete with both free cheeks intact. This is EXTREMELY RARE for this type of trilobite - almost all are found as cheekless moults. The detail is excellent - you can easily see the glabellar furrows and the unusual shape of the tail. The orange and cream coloration is fully natural and quite striking. This is without a doubt the best and most colorful specimen of Xystridura we have ever had. It is a fabulous example of this unusual Cambrian trilobite from ''Down Under''.
