This is a VERY unusual spiny trilobite. It is a Short-Spined Comura from the Devonian of Morocco. This specimen was painstakingly prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. The ''look'' of this trilobite is truly amazing. The bug looks almost exactly like the Comura that has 40 LONG, vertical spines, except this trilobite has three rows of much shorter spines. This specimen is nicely outstretched and wonderfully articulated. The long, sweeping pleural spines and pygidial spines are beautifully showcased. The natural color of the bug is quite striking and contrasts well with the light-colored matrix. The large trilobite displays well on the squared block of sculpted limestone. This is a fabulous specimen of this rare, Short-Spined Comura trilobite from Morocco.
