Here is a very nice US trilobite. This is Greenops barberi from the Devonian of New York. This trilobite is almost perfectly prone and wonderfully articulated. The inflated bug exhibits fine detail. The pointed pygidial lappets are beautifully displayed. The black color of the trilobite contrasts nicely with the grey matrix. The fossil arthropod is well showcased on the large, natural plate of shale that also contains three nice horn corals. This is a very good example of Greenops barberi from the famous Penn-Dixie Quarry.
