Here is a fine example of Asaphiscus wheeleri from the Cambrian of Utah. This trilobite is complete and very well articulated. The bug exhibits very fine detail - both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, which is quite unusual. This jet black trilobite has beautiful, thick exoskeleton that contrasts strikingly with the light grey matrix. The bug is wonderfully centered on the large, natural plate of shale. This is a very nice Asaphiscus wheeleri with free cheeks intact.
