Here is a gorgeous pair of Ameropiltonia lauradanae from the Mississippian of Missouri. This specimen was recently acquired from the famous DeRosear Collection. Doug was one of the only collectors of this site and has collected it more extensively than anyone. Out of all the Ameropiltonia that he collected in TWENTY YEARS, this trilobite double was one of the few he kept in his personal collection. The trilobites are fully inflated and beautifully articulated. The free cheeks of both bugs are intact and tightly attached. The thick-shelled trilobites are perfectly prone and exhibit wonderful detail. The protruding eyes are quite evident, and the entire carapaces are covered with pustulations. And there is absolutely NO REPAIR OR RESTORATION to these fabulous trilobites. This is a superb double Ameropiltonia direct from the DeRosear Collection.
