This is an unusual pair of US trilobite. These are Genevievella granulatus from the Upper Cambrian of Utah. This type used to be called Democephalus. This type has a large head, a small tail, and a pustulous thorax. There is a long spine that eminates off of the seventh axial ring that lays on the axial lobe of the tail. Both specimens showcase this spine in wonderful fashion. The trilobites have good natural color and contrast well with the striking red matrix. And there are not just two of these bugs on the plate, they are actually overlapping! This is a very fine double example of the elusive Genevievella granulatus.
