Here is a very rare Canadian trilobite. This is Ectinaspis homalonotoides from the Ordovician of Ontario. This wonderful specimen was recently acquired from the famous DeRosear Collection. This outstretched trilobite is complete and unusually well articulated. The large, wide-set eyes are quite evident (and fully intact!), and the unusual, pointed tail is easily seen. The fossil has great, light brown color and contrasts well with the grey matrix. And, best of all, there is NO RESTORATION on this beautiful fossil. This is a very collectible example of this unusual North American trilobite from the DeRosear Collection.
