This is an excellent Phacops rana rana plate from the Middle Devonian of New York. This specimen was found years ago at the famous Penn-Dixie Quarry. There is one complete and many partial trilobites on the plate. The fossils are inflated and exhibit fine detail. The individual facets of the eyes and the pustulose glabellas are extremely well preserved. The black trilobites contrast beautifully with the light grey matrix. The bugs are nicely showcased on the large matrix plate that also contains two horn corals. This is a very fine specimen of Phacops and corals from New York.
