This is an unusual trilobite. It is a Basilicus sp. from Russia. This type has a semi-circular head and tail. The eyes on this type are very small. This specimen has the textbook "crackle" skin pattern preserved on the tail. The bug sits on a large natural matrix plate. It is a very nice example of this uncommon Russian trilobite.
