This is an extremely rare Proetid trilobite. It is a very fine Unidentified Trilobite from from the Lower Silurian of China. This specimen was recently acquired from the famous DeRosear Collection. This trilobite is from the same layers as the more common Encrinurus, but is 100 times rarer. This prone trilobite is nicely inflated and well positioned on the natural chunk of matrix. The trilobite has great detail, showcasing its large eyes beautifully. The bug has striking natural color that contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. This is an excellent example of this very scarce Proetid from the DeRosear Collection.
