This is a fabulous Phacops rana rana double from the Middle Devonian of New York. This specimen was found decades ago and was recently acquired from the famous DeRosear Collection. There are two beautifully outstretched trilobites on the plate. Both trilobites are extremely inflated and exhibit very fine detail. The individual facets of the eyes and the large, pustulose glabellas are extremely well preserved. The black trilobites contrast strikingly with the light grey matrix. The bugs are wonderfully showcased on the large, rectangular matrix plate. This is a very collectible double specimen of Phacops from the DeRosear Collection.
