This is a beautiful trilobite. It is a large Ceraurus plattinensis from Ontario, Canada. This fabulous specimen was recently acquired from the famous DeRosear Collection. This type is one of the hardest Canadian Ceraurus-types to find in nice shape. This one is not only nice, it is spectacular. The trilobite has beautifully preserved thick shell exoskeleton - THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO RESTORATION TO THIS TRILOBITE WHATSOEVER! The bug is wonderfully articulated, extremely 3-D, and fully complete. The trilobite is nicely showcased on the squared matrix block. This is simply one of the best Ceraurus plattinensis ever found, period - and it was locked up in the DeRosear Collection for many years, until now.
